Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to the Journal of Kyrgyzstan Studies (JKS). All submissions are evaluated by the Editorial Board for fit with the journal's aims and scope. Manuscripts that pass this initial review are sent to double-blind peer review for a final decision.

Author responsibilities prior to submission:

— Obtaining permissions to publish all materials included in the manuscript (photographs, documents, datasets, etc.).

— Confirming that all listed authors have contributed substantively and accept authorship.

— Providing ethics committee approval, where required by the laws of the country in which the research was conducted, and uploading the approval document.

— Ensuring all authors are registered with a valid ORCID identifier.

— Transparently declaring any use of artificial intelligence tools in the manuscript.

Editors may reject manuscripts that do not meet minimum quality standards without sending them out for peer review. Before submitting, please ensure: the study design and research question are clearly articulated; the title is concise and reflects the content; the abstract (200–250 words) stands alone as a representation of the full article; citations and references conform to APA 7th edition formatting; the manuscript has been anonymised, with author information provided on a separate cover page; the work has been screened for plagiarism (similarity index below 20%).

For detailed style rules, please consult the Author Guidelines.
