Editorial Policies

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Kyrgyzstan Studies (JKS) adopts an open access model. All articles are freely accessible.

Fee Policy

No submission, review, or publication fees are charged.

Language Policy

Publication languages: Kyrgyz, Russian, and English. Kyrgyz/Russian articles must include an extended English abstract. English articles must provide abstract and keywords in English.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. At least two independent reviewers evaluate each manuscript. Final decisions are made by the editorial board.

Confidentiality

All information related to the review process is confidential. Author and reviewer identities are protected.

Retraction

JKS retracts articles that seriously compromise scientific integrity:

• Major ethical violation

• Plagiarism or self-plagiarism

• Data fabrication/manipulation

• Misleading author statements

• Breach of publication ethics

Retracted articles remain online with a clear “Retracted” label and explanation. DOI stays active.

Correction (Erratum)

Minor errors not affecting scientific results are corrected via an erratum notice, linked to the original article.
