The Journal of Kyrgyzstan Studies (JKS) is a peer-reviewed, fully open-access international academic journal published in Bishkek. We invite researchers to contribute to our inaugural issue.

Scope

JKS publishes interdisciplinary research that examines the social, cultural, historical, educational, and political dimensions of Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia through rigorous scholarly methods. Fields accepted:

  • Educational Sciences
  • History and Anthropology
  • Sociology and Social Policy
  • Literature and Philology
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Geography and Regional Studies
  • Manas Studies
Editorial Policy
  • A double-blind peer-review process is applied.
  • Citations and references follow the APA 7th Edition standard.
  • All articles are published in open access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
  • No fees are charged to authors (no APCs).
  • All authors must hold a valid ORCID iD.
Article Types
  • Research Article: 6,000–10,000 words
  • Review / Theoretical Study: 8,000–12,000 words
  • Manas Studies: 6,000–10,000 words
  • Book Review: 1,500–2,500 words
