Author Guidelines

Article Types The Journal of Kyrgyzstan Studies (JKS) accepts the following types of articles:

  • Research Article: Original empirical studies designed around a specific research question, with data collection and analysis.

  • Review / Theoretical Study: Works that systematically or critically examine the literature on a specific topic and present theoretical discussions.

Writing and Formatting Guidelines

  • Research article: 4,000–8,000 words

  • Review / theoretical study: 5,000–9,000 words (including references)

  • Page size: A4

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Line spacing: 1.5

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract length: 150–250 words

  • Abstracts in at least two languages (one must be English)

  • 3–5 keywords

Citation and References

  • APA 7th Edition citation style is used.

  • In-text citations and references must follow APA 7 rules.

  • Use of reference management software (Zotero, Mendeley) is recommended.

Article Structure

  • Research articles: IMRaD (Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion & Conclusion)

  • Review/theoretical studies: IMRaD not required, but logical coherence must be ensured.
